Policy
Terms of Use
Effective 16 September 2026
The service
Lumen provides tools to convert, compress, and merge files. By using the site you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Disclaimer.
License to use
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable license to use Lumen for lawful conversion of files you have the right to process. We do not grant a license to scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service in a way that harms other users or the host.
Your files
You retain whatever rights you already have in files you convert. You represent that you may process those files and that the output will not be used to infringe others. Lumen does not claim ownership of your content.
No accounts, no paid conversion plan
The studio is free to use. Optional support via Buy Me a Coffee is a donation, not a subscription, and does not buy extra conversion rights, SLA, or storage.
Limits
- Uploads to the Python API are capped (currently 80 MB per file).
- Some format pairs depend on FFmpeg, Pillow, or the browser’s codecs.
- We may suspend access to protect the host from abuse.
Disclaimer of warranties
Lumen is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that a conversion will be pixel-perfect, that metadata will survive, or that every codec will decode. See the Disclaimer.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Lumen and its operator are not liable for lost files, lost profits, or indirect damages arising from use of the studio. Convert important work with a copy, not the only original.
Changes and contact
